It’s fight week people and I apologize for the late post but better late than never!
4 division world champion Adrien “The Problem” Broner will take on the undefeated 3x world champion Mikey Garcia this Saturday and it is primed to be a great match up. This fight is a combination of so many variables and that makes it more interesting.
So many people are doubting Broner will come out victorious as well as Las Vegas as Mikey is was a 5-1 favorite to open the betting lines. The Cincinnati warrior will indeed be the most difficult challenge of Mikey’s career as he is the heavier man and has an arsenal of weapons at his disposal as well as a brutal punch. Marcos Maidana told Mikey that Broner was the hardest hitting fighter he has ever faced.
This is the first time Mikey Garcia will fight at 140 lbs so that may be a factor as will he be able to perform at the same caliber at the heavier weight. Adrien Broner has not made 140 lbs in two years and we still don’t know if he will make weight by Friday, although I do have to say that a penalty of $500,000 per pound over is great motivation for making the weight.
Though Mikey is the smaller fighter in this match up, he will go in as the fighter with better ring IQ, adaptability, great defense, and a hard punch as he has KO’d 30 of 36 of his opponents.
Key things to watch for:
- Can Mikey perform the same at 140?
- Can Adrien perform the same at 140 as he has not made that weight in 2 years?
- Will Broner turn this into a brutal brawling match?
- Can Mikey keep up in a brawling match or can he avoid it?
- Who will be the aggressor?
- Who will outsmart and out counter?
- Will there be a KO?
Check out all the action
