As soon as I caught wind of this movie finally being made a few years back (circa The Amazing Spider-Man days) I was so excited! The other feelings and thoughts come up and you get buzzkill moments when you hear that Venom wont be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and when they announce that they’re rebooting Spider-Man…again.
You really try to figure out how they’re going to make it work with the information you’ve absorbed already.
With the announcement of Tom Hardy ‘excited’ and on board to play the powerful symbiote’s host Eddie Brock, I got a huge jolt of optimism as he’s one of the best to do it in Hollywood.
Hardy’s performances over the years makes him the perfect match as he’s played villains like John Fitzgerald in The Revenant opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, or the big bad villain Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. Tom has also been attached to hero like roles such as Max Rockatansky in Mad Max: Fury Road
As young kid I collected some comics but I wasn’t a huge collector or reader. Some of the comics I had were the Venom: Lethal Protector series which I have learned this movie will be somewhat based on.
Venom has always been a favorite of mine, even sometimes more so than Spider-Man and with that kind of respect for the character, Venom is a figure that needs to be made the right way, and Spider-Man 3 did us no favors.
Tom Hardy will star in Venom along Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson, Riz Ahmed, and possibly a cameo by Tom Holland.
The Venom teaser trailer/international trailer in all its glory is below, enjoy and leave a comment about what you thought of it.
